Shah Md. Ahsan Habib is a Professor Selection Grade of Bangladesh Institute of Bank Management (BIBM). The host obtained Phd from Banaras Hindu University, India under BHU Research Scholarship; and accomplished Post Doctoral Fellowship on Green Banking from Syracuse University, USA under Senior Fulbright Scholarship. Having over 25 years of professional experiences in the banking industry, his key research areas include trade financing, inclusive finance, green banking, and financial crime and malpractices in the financial sector. Having teaching experiences with Institute of Business Administration [IBA] and Department of International Business of the University of Dhaka; East West University; Brac University; and University of Professionals, the host has a good number of research papers, studies, publications, chapters in different national and international journals and books. He is the author or lead author of the books ‘Financial Globalization’, ‘Environmentally Responsible Banking in USA’, ‘Towards Knowledge Society’, ‘Green Banking in Bangladesh’, ‘Trade Services by Banks in Bangladesh’, published by the national and international publishers. He is a columnist of the national English and Bangla dailies: ‘The Financial Express’ and ‘Banik Barta’. He has been playing editorial roles for the following publications: ‘BIBM’s Policy Brief’ (as Executive Editor); ‘Green Biz of the Green Tech Foundation’ (as Executive Editor); ‘Risk Enlightenments’ (as Executive Editor); ‘Banking Review Series’, ‘Banking Research Series’, and ‘Bank Parikrama’ (as members of the Editorial Team). The host is the Chairmen of the Executive Committee of D.Net, an ICT for D organization in Bangladesh. He worked in several projects as a Consultant sponsored by IFC; Global Knowledge Partnership [GKP], UNDP; World Bank; Malaysia; IDRC, Canada; Oxfam GB; CPD, Bangladesh; InM, Bangladesh; GIZ, Germany; European Union; D Net, Bangladesh; FBCCI, Bangladesh etc. He is an Independent Director of IPDC. He is a Senate Member of Jahangir Nagar University.
